It's half term. Busy for making children attractive. On the other hand, this beautiful season give me great inspirations here and there. I made a very summery dish based on Japanese taste: Creamy Salmon Spaghetti, caramelised onion with Japanese Dashi Jelly Salad This crystal salad look like icy, but this made of Japanese Dashi Jelly! Looks fun and eat fun! Would you want more spaghetti? I bet so, no worries, here are more extra spaghetti :) Right.
I've charged up my energy for tomorrow's new event! I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow too. Naoko

I wanted to make a quiet but a beautiful beach on my plate like a crystal coast line of Cornwall. Can you guess what these pretty pearly drops? They are made of Yuzu juice, Japanese savoury Dashi and Agar. It would be much better if I whip the cream before adding Yuzu pepper paste though, should be fine. Next time. I will serve these Yuzu Pearl at my next event, East meets west, English wine and fine sushi on this Thursday.
I look forward to seeing you there. Naoko Whenever I have such a lazy weekend morning (especially in a bank holiday morning!), I much prefer to make a noodle for a brunch as that's the most simple cooking for me. For this long weekend, I made a Soba brunch. Simplicity is the best but the taste is not simply as this dipping soup is my hand made and made of Kelp and Dried bonito. This is the genuine authentic method to make a Soba broth. My most favourite way to have Soba is to drop a fresh raw quail egg to a dipping soup. Aww I can't resist this! And I made Tofu & Sweet onion Dashi jelly salad together. My boys had happy tummies with these very Japanese taste. (What a messy table! Never mind mum) Anyway I'm so grateful that I have a peaceful evening here at the end of this long weekend even if I was so much busy with boys for them. Have a lovely half term everyone.
Naoko A trial for my sake. Trick is that this Dashi jelly melt with the hot oxtail in your mouth and it turns into the Japanese sauce!! Mmmm I love this!
I hope to serve you this idea at some point in the near future. Naoko The other day, I made Seafood paella and Matcha roll cake. Just for remembering the recipe from the last holiday to Spain and also for a practice for my event menu. Not perfect (especially roll cake. It was cracked as I packed too much cream in that. it's too scrummy!) Oh well, should be fine, practice should remind me my method soon. After my cooking, I make a practice of walking in such a beautiful area.
Wind, bird singing, smell of earth...everything is stunning here. I want to thank to everything surrounding me. I hope you all have a peaceful day tomorrow. Naoko Wild garlic. This season has just come. These are wild vegetable and I picked up them whilst having a lovely walk along a coast line. After working up a sweat, I made a dinner which was my family's favourite using the wild garlic: Tonkatsu (とんかつ Pork cutlet) and Tom yum soup. Such a hearty appetite, but it should be alright after such an energetic time! I hope everyone had a good start of this week.
Naoko For a day when I was eager to have a healthiest food, this is that. Sashimi Salmon, Salted tofu, Wakame Green salad, Garlic soy dressing Such a shedloads of fresh vegetables, good proteins and minerals! I didn't need to feel any guilty at all :) Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
Naoko And serve Sweet Onion Japanese salad alongside. Taste fresh, feeling healthy.
Have a lovely day everyone. Naoko It's nearly 1 month to go before my Japanese Supper Club in St Ives. I have been struggling to make my mind for the menu, but finally I made the guts. This could be worthy for the main dish: Wagyu steak Sesame seeds, Mushed broccoli Yuzu pepper, Dashi jelly. And I made a Tofu custard pudding Matcha milk alongside this. This contains NO fat, so I didn't have any guilty to serve this pudding to my family. Would you be up for these healthy Japanese food?
We still have a couple of spaces, I don't want you disappointed by missing this opportunity. Ticket & details are here I look forward to seeing you as much as we can. Naoko I made much more this Thai curry for one more night whenever I make this as my family really love this dish! I love to make from scratch because I can tune the chilli spice for my little boys. Phew finally it's weekend!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
