It was such a beautiful day in Cornwall.
I made a risotto my sons really love.
My risotto is made from homemade fish broth which was simmered for 5 hours, and so this is so flavourful.
This time, I chose Tempura lotus root and Mochi rice ball with Nori sauce as a garnish.
They are so matching with seafood risotto.
This is the savoury Mochi rice ball.
Boys loved it so much!
I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
(Me? Yes we thankfully are too!)
This is a typical local food of Okinawa island, the most southern island of Japan, and one of my favourite taste.
This home style food is easy & quick cooking and takes only 20 minutes!
Also Okinawa island is famous for the highest average number of the aged population all over the world.
So this would be healthy and high nutritional food as their iconic food.
And I served homemade Kimchi which is my husband's favourite alongside also.
It must be good for my children to know authentic Japanese taste.
Right, this weekend is a long weekend with a Bank holiday on Monday.
I'm ready for having a family time.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend also.
I made a fish broth from lobster's shell and other fish bones what I brought from a local fishmonger the other day.
I just learned to cook the authentic Spanish paella from the culinary school in San Sebastian, so I wanted to remake their delicious taste for my family.
Next day, I finally made a seafood paella using this flavourful fish broth.
I served Cornish lobster meat on top and homemade garlic bread alongside.
I made double amount of the paella for the next day's dinner though, all gone only one night!! (My husband told me that this was the best paella ever in his life!)
Oh well. such a hungry three boys.
Never mind, their happiness is my happiness.
Have a lovely day today, everyone.
My little vegetables in my garden.
These new lives made me uplifting.
They inspired me to make a pretty tiny sweet with using them.
Tofu custard Stick fruit cakes
This custard literally made of tofu, so that's totally NO dairy and NO fat.
Absolutely healthy and low calorie snack.
Would you be interested in this Japanese taste?
Yes you can, I'll be serving this as a dessert at the event with BinTwo in May.
Also you would enjoy Sushi Making experience with wines & Sake and two types of Japas (Japanese tapas) as well!
I look forward to seeing you as much as we can there.
The other day, I was really lucky to get a live lobster from a local fishmonger.
That was a genuine Cornish lobster.
My boys were so excited to see the live real lobster for their first time!
This was perfect timing for me as well because I just obtained some new techniques for cooking live lobster from a culinary school of San Sebastian in Spain a few weeks ago.
Then I tucked up my sleeves!
Cornish Lobster Salad with beetroot dashi jelly & homemade garlic mayonnaise
I pureed the lobster brain which is the most delicious rich taste of lobster and served it alongside.
That was absolutely fresh and clean taste like this resent season!
I hope you all have a lovely week.
We have been so blessed in such a glorious weather.
Just one month to go, I will hold a Sushi Making & Japanese tapas with wines event with BinTwo.
Then I made some Japanese tapas on trial.
I named them Japas!
Fried marinated chicken with crispy rice (Chicken Nambam チキン南蛮)
Tuna confit on Cornish mushroom
Pork dumpling Pincho
Oh what a joyful table!
Not only in May but also in this summer, I'm going to hold lots of Japas Night events in Cornwall!
Keep your eyes on my website.
Tickets for BinTwo is here
Ika-Meshi is so popular food in Japan, and is derived from the local food of northern island, Hokkaido.
I used to enjoy this typical Japanese taste when I had a train journey with Bento box.
I served this along with Beetroot jelly seasoned by Kelp and Bonito.
Such like a jewel!
Good starting after a long Easter Holiday.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend too.
Have a lovely week.
Luckily I could attend a cup cake decoration lesson holder by Suzi yesterday.
I have been longing her class for ages!
So I was so HAPPY!
What exquisite cup cakes they are!
Can you believe that this was my first time to make a decoration!
Suzi was great teacher and gave me a plenty of knowledge & skills for making decorations.
I'm already looking forward to attending her other courses in the soon future.
